Hawaii Wedding Locations

So you and your fiancé have finally decided upon having a beach wedding, and you’ve picked Hawaii as your wedding destination. Congratulations! Where else can you hold a more romantic wedding location than in Hawaii, where you have white sandy beaches, clear sea waters, the purest air, beautiful palm trees, and tropical flowers... This is the reason why Hawaii is one of the most popular wedding locations, wherein more than 20,000 couples go there each year to say their “I do’s”.

Hawaii is composed of six major islands – the Big Island, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai and Oahu. Each island in Hawaii has its own unique flavor and offers several wedding locations for you to choose from.

There are several resorts, inns, and facilities you can take advantage of, with a whole slew of activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. that you will surely enjoy. The best thing about choosing Hawaii as a wedding location is that it’s public and free, which means that there is no site fee or permit required to get married there. Take note, though, that there are certain restrictions against alcohol and loud music.

Oahu

Oahu is the most populated among all the six Hawaii islands, being that this is where the state capital, Honolulu, is located. Oahu is one of the most convenient Hawaii wedding locations, especially if you have a lot of guests flying in from the airport, since Oahu has the most direct flights.

Waikiki is world famous in Oahu for its phenomenal formal Hawaiian weddings, and it’s where most people choose as their location because of the many hotels available. The most requested wedding site in Waikiki is the Waialae Beach Park, aside from Magic Island, Diamond Head Park, etc.

The Big Island

The Big Island, which is named so for being the main island of Hawaii, is another great Hawaii wedding location. Surrounded by five splendid mountain ranges, the Big Island offers wonderful sites such as a snow-covered dormant volcano, black and white sandy beaches, black lava, tropical rain forests, and snow-capped mountains.

You can be married in their popular wedding sites such as the Kikaua Point Park, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, Anaeho’omalu Bay, Waipio Valley, and the Kuki'o Beach at Ka'upulehu, to name a few.

Kauai

Kauai is the northern rural island in Hawaii, known for being where several Hollywood movies were shot such as the famed Jurassic Park and Six Days, Seven Nights. Kauai also serves as a great wedding location in Hawaii because of its splendid beaches and the very laid-back atmosphere. Ideal locations in Kauai to hold weddings are the Keoniloa Bay, Lumahai Beach, Lydgate Beach, and the Anini Cove. You can also opt to get married at the bottom of Kauai's magnificent waterfalls.

Lanai

Lanai happens to be another beautiful wedding location in Hawaii with which to hold weddings. Also known as the “Pineapple Island”, Lanai is famous for its beautiful beaches, tropical gardens, and cliffs with an amazing view of the oceans below. The most popular resorts in Lanai with which to hold your weddings are the Lodge at Koele and the Manele Bay Hotel.

Maui

Also called the “Valley Isle”, Maui is also an ideal wedding location in Hawaii due to its abundance of hotels, beaches, and beautiful resorts. Its noted wedding beach locations include the North Maluaka Beach, Maui Tropical Gardens, Kaanapali Shores and the Kapalua Bay. For a more unique wedding, you can also have your wedding near the waterfalls in the island, or even underwater.

Molokai

Molokai, “The Friendly Island”, is also a beautiful location in Hawaii with which to hold your wedding. The most remote and untouched of all Hawaiian islands, Molokai has the world's highest sea cliffs and is well-known for the beautiful serenity of its beaches, the most famous of which is the Papohaku Beach.
