Having your wedding ceremony on a beach can seem like a great idea at first. However, as you make the preparations you might find yourself becoming more and more stressed. Perhaps you are the kind of person that doesn’t see very far into the future – when you first decided to have your wedding on a beach, you didn’t even consider what types of beach wedding attire are available.
It can seem like there is no way to have a decent wedding on a beach simply because of the lack of options. However, there are still several options for beach wedding attire that you can consider. Sometimes you will go with a nice outfit meant for beach weddings, but maybe you feel that regular swimsuit is fine.
The “Casual†Approach
Have you ever considered that maybe you can break the mold of a traditional wedding in more ways than one? Instead of spending money on fancy beach wedding attire, why not just wear what you would normally wear to the beach? Get the groom a nice Speedo, and get the bride a bikini.
Modesty? Formality? Those are things of the past. Encourage your guests to follow the trend, and feel free to wear whatever they wish. Some might show up in tuxedos, some might show up nude. It is this variety that will lend your wedding some of its charm when you look back later.
Of course there are also a number of rather formal looking outfits available for purchase. These are custom designed for wearing on a beach. So while looking like you are at a formal wedding, you can remain cool in the sun and even go for a swim afterwards. These outfits are surprisingly inexpensive, even from specialized dealers.
However, the components are so simple that you can make outfits of your own at ridiculously low prices. Basically, all the groom needs are a pair of slacks and a tropical shirt, plus all the necessary accessories. For the bride, you can mix and match various accessories to find the perfect combination. Beach wedding attire is very flexible. Almost anything can look nice in the right combination.
Groomsmen and Bridesmaids
Generally, the standards for what the groomsmen and bridesmaids wear is much more lax at a beach wedding. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with the strict regulations of a regular wedding – usually they can choose for themselves. Just specify a certain direction you’d like to go in, and let them choose their own beach wedding attire.
For example, just tell the men that you’d like them all to be wearing a tropical shirt with a blue tint. When the wedding comes around, you will have a nice variety but still have them be distinguished from everyone else.
A beach wedding can seem stressful for the planner during the beginning stages. However, the whole principle behind the beach wedding is that it is more laid back than a standard wedding. So why not take that attitude in the planning? It’s not worth it to stress about what people will think. Just choose what you are comfortable with, and wear it. That is the best guidance you can follow for a beach wedding, and it will certainly decrease the stress that goes into planning all of the outfits.
